Convert rise and run into a mower-ready number

Slope percentage is vertical rise divided by horizontal run, multiplied by 100. The angle is the arctangent of the same ratio. Measure both values in the same unit and use horizontal run rather than distance measured along the grass.

Check work-area and boundary limits separately

Robot mower specifications may allow a steeper slope inside the mowing area than near a physical or virtual boundary. Turns, wet grass, obstacles and abrupt transitions can also reduce usable performance. The calculator subtracts the entered planning margin before reporting headroom.
